Inner city rainforest

Øivin Horvei's mural for Løkka-Lykke 2023 thematizes the importance of the rainforest to mark World Rainforest Day (June 22). As part of the growth process, trees and other plants absorb and store the emissions of CO2. It's so effective that the world's forests bind around 1/3 of global CO2 emissions. Where possible, Horvei has used photocatalytic paint, which has the property of breaking down harmful substances in the air through an oxidation process activated by solar energy.
